1. Know Your QAV-PRO Nano

This custom Lumenier QAV-PRO Nano is a compact digital cruiser: more substantial than a tiny whoop, but much smaller and less intimidating than a 5-inch quad. It is built for relaxed digital cruising around a yard, park, trees and tighter spaces while still giving you full DJI digital video.

Important: This is real FPV. DJI is the video system; it does not fly the aircraft for you.

2. Battery, Strap & Power

The elastic battery strap stays on the quad

Do not remove the battery strap. It is elastic and designed to stay installed. Simply stretch the strap up and over the battery, place the pack flat on the top plate, and let the strap pull it snugly into place.

Top-mounted XT30

Once the battery is secure, plug it into the top-mounted XT30 connector. Keep the battery lead clear of the props.

Recommended starting battery: 850mAh 4S LiPo. This build was tested at 248.61g with the pictured 850mAh 4S installed. Battery weights vary, so verify your own all-up weight if staying under 249g matters to you.

3. Binding Your ELRS Radio

The quad uses a RadioMaster RP1 ExpressLRS 2.4GHz receiver.

If your radio and receiver already share the same ELRS binding phrase, manual binding may not be necessary.

4. DJI O3 & Betaflight Checks

DJI O3 pairing

If the O3 Air Unit is not already paired to your compatible DJI goggles, power the quad with airflow across the O3, place the goggles in linking mode, then press the O3 link button. Confirm a clear live image and that Betaflight OSD is visible.

Heat warning: The DJI O3 can get hot while sitting still. Use a fan during extended bench setup.

5. First Flight

How to think about this quad

This is not really aimed at hard freestyle. It is a small, capable digital cruiser. It can fly indoors in experienced hands, but your first flight should be outside in a clear area. It has considerably more authority than a tiny whoop, so give yourself room.

Safety: FPV props can injure you. Never arm on a workbench or near people or pets. Use simulator time if you are new to manual/Acro FPV. Inspect props, screws, battery, wiring and antenna before every flight. Use proper LiPo charging and storage practices.
