DeepSpace Seeker 35

“YOU CAN DO IT!!!” Edition — a compact, serious 3.5-inch 6S manual FPV aircraft with DJI O4 Wide digital video, ExpressLRS and GPS.

This is real manual FPV—not a toy or a camera drone. The O4 system provides video; it does not make this an Avata. Remove all four props before receiver, mode, failsafe or motor work.

Battery

Use a quality 6S LiPo with the correct XT60 connector and enough discharge capability for a high-performance quad. Roughly 650–1100mAh is a practical starting range for many 3.5-inch 6S builds, but confirm physical fit, weight, center of gravity and your flying style. The battery is not included.

Before the first real flight: understand ARM, ACRO, any self-level mode, BEEPER and GPS Rescue. Simulator crashes cost less than carbon fiber. New pilots should build substantial simulator time before flying this quad.

1. Power up the radio and goggles

GOGGLES → RADIO → QUAD

  1. Remove the goggle lens protector and power on compatible DJI goggles.
  2. Power on the ExpressLRS radio. Confirm the intended control profile and throttle fully low.
  3. Place the quad on a level surface with the props clear of people, pets, straps, tools and loose objects.
  4. Secure the 6S battery tightly, check XT60 polarity, then connect it. Listen for normal ESC startup tones.
  5. Confirm the ELRS control link, DJI video and Betaflight OSD before arming.
  6. If using GPS functions, wait outside for adequate satellites and a valid home position.
Do not arm on the workbench. The clear props are difficult to see when spinning and can cause serious injury.

2. ExpressLRS and DJI O4

ExpressLRS 2.4GHz

The RadioMaster RP1 uses an external antenna. Keep the antenna and coax protected. Do not fly with a cut, crushed or disconnected antenna.

  • If already bound, do not re-bind without a reason.
  • The common three-power-cycle method may put an unconfigured receiver into bind mode.
  • With props removed, verify every stick, AUX switch, telemetry and Link Quality in Betaflight.
  • Do not confuse RSSI dBm with LQ.

DJI O4 Wide Pro

  • Use compatible DJI goggles and compatible firmware.
  • Confirm a clean image and Betaflight OSD before flight.
  • Do not leave the air unit powered on the bench for long without airflow; digital transmitters get hot.

3. Betaflight controls and props-out

Use the protected USB-C access for Betaflight and support the connector while plugging in or removing the cable. Remove every prop first.

Modes to understand

Receiver and orientation check

This build uses props-out rotation. At the front, the propellers rotate away from the camera at the top of their arcs. Verify actual motor direction and CW/CCW prop placement—never install a prop by color or guesswork. Photograph the layout before removing them.

4. GPS, failsafe and first flight

Mini M10 GPS

GPS Rescue is not autopilot. It has no obstacle avoidance and is not guaranteed to land the quad. Verify satellites, climb and return altitude, throttle or hover values, arming rules and failsafe behavior before relying on it.

First-flight checklist

After the first pack: unplug the battery and check motor temperature, props, arms, straps, TPU, antennas and wiring. Painfully hot motors, rough bearings or unhealthy sound require investigation before another flight.

5. Ownership, safety and support

LiPo care

  • Use a proper balance charger and correct 6S settings.
  • Never charge unattended or on a combustible surface.
  • Do not use punctured, crushed or badly swollen packs.
  • Use storage voltage when packs will sit unused.
  • Never leave a battery connected to the quad.

Routine inspection

  • Inspect props, arms, screws, camera, GPS, antennas, XT60 lead and straps before every session.
  • After a crash, unplug first and inspect carbon, wires, motor shafts, antennas and the LiPo.
  • Do not reconnect power if smoke, excess heat or an electrical smell is present.

Builder support

I can help with basic Betaflight orientation, ELRS binding, DJI pairing, flight modes, OSD and GPS setup. Save a Betaflight backup before making changes. I do not operate a general repair service for crashed aircraft, but I may be able to help diagnose a problem remotely.

Final launch check: 6S battery. ELRS link. DJI goggles link. Correct props-out layout. Clear area. GPS lock when needed. Simulator time before hero time. YOU CAN DO IT—safely.
