YOUR CUSTOM SEEKER 35

Getting started, without an unscheduled haircut

This guide accompanies the custom build described in the listing. It is a setup reference, not a record of completed flight tests. Keep all propellers removed during radio, video and computer setup. Refit them only after the configuration and motor checks are complete.

Your hardware

Deep Space Seeker 35 frame; Deep Space 2006 / 2460 kV motors; Flywoo F722 Pro Mini; 45A AM32 ESC; DJI O4 Air Unit Pro; M10 GPS; RadioMaster RP1 ELRS; custom TPU and protective finishing.

Two separate connections

The RP1 receiver connects the radio to the aircraft controls. The O4 Pro connects the aircraft camera to compatible DJI goggles. A working video picture does not prove that the radio controls work, and a bound radio does not prove the video link is ready.

Before you apply power

Obtain the approved battery cell count, connector/polarity and pack recommendation from the builder. The battery shown in the sales photos is not proof of the required voltage. Inspect for loose screws, damaged wires, cracked props and displaced antennas. Confirm antennas are attached before powering the video system.

RADIO SETUP - RP1 EXPRESSLRS

1. Choose the correct radio model

Use a compatible ExpressLRS 2.4 GHz transmitter or module. Create or select the model intended for this aircraft. Keep throttle low and the arm switch off. Confirm the radio and receiver run compatible ExpressLRS major firmware versions.

2. Bind using the installed firmware method

Use the same unique binding phrase on both devices, or the supported manual binding method. The official ExpressLRS guide describes receiver power cycling and radio Lua-script binding. Available methods differ by firmware; identify the receiver version before changing anything. Do not publish the binding phrase in the listing.

3. Verify actual channel movement

A receiver connection indication is only the start. With props removed, inspect the receiver channels in the flight-controller configuration tool. Confirm throttle, roll, pitch and yaw respond to the intended sticks in the correct direction. Confirm every configured switch reaches its assigned range.

4. Record, rather than assume, the switches

Record the arm/disarm switch and every mode on the handover page. Do not assume another pilot's switch layout applies. If anything behaves differently from the handover record, disconnect the battery and resolve it before proceeding.

If binding fails

Check frequency band, compatible firmware major versions, correct radio model and Model Match settings. Follow the linked ExpressLRS troubleshooting guidance; do not flash an arbitrary target or overwrite the builder's tune to solve a radio-link problem.

VIDEO SETUP - DJI O4 AIR UNIT PRO

1. Check goggles compatibility

DJI lists Goggles 3, Goggles N3, Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra for the O4 series with appropriate firmware. Check the current DJI instructions for your exact combination. This aircraft's intended control link is the installed RP1 ELRS receiver, so a DJI remote is not required for that configuration.

2. Activate and pair

If activation is required, use DJI's official software and instructions. Select the appropriate O4 aircraft mode in the goggles and follow DJI's linking procedure for the goggles model and air unit. Keep props off, antennas attached, and provide airflow over the air unit during bench work.

3. Check picture and flight data

Verify live video, camera security and a clear lens. Check that expected OSD items are visible and plausible, including battery data, radio-link information and GPS information if configured. Video can work while OSD is missing; resolve that separately before flight.

4. Recording is separate from piloting

Confirm recording media, storage space and the selected recording mode. Make a short recording and play it back. A recording setting does not establish live transmission quality, available range or the readiness of the flight controls.

If the picture drops or the unit gets hot

Disconnect and allow cooling. Check antenna connections, power wiring and compatible firmware. Keep powered bench sessions short and ventilated. Follow DJI's model-specific instructions rather than leaving the air unit powered indefinitely.

CONFIGURATION, MOTOR CHECKS AND GPS

Preserve the working configuration

If the aircraft uses Betaflight, use a compatible configuration tool and save a backup before changing settings. Record the exact target and firmware version. Do not apply a stock Seeker 35 preset or an older drone's full configuration without checking hardware, UART assignments and firmware compatibility.

Motor order and propeller direction

With all props removed, confirm flight-controller orientation, motor order and motor direction using the appropriate configuration procedure. After disconnecting power, install each prop to match that motor's verified direction. This guide does not assume props-in or props-out.

Failsafe must be demonstrated

With props removed and the aircraft secured, follow the flight firmware's documented failsafe test. Confirm that loss of radio produces the recorded behavior, and that reconnecting does not create an unexpected armed state. Do not test radio loss by turning the transmitter off during flight.

M10 GPS verification

Move to an open outdoor location and verify a stable GPS fix and plausible position data. In Betaflight, M10 automatic configuration requires suitable firmware support; the current documentation specifies 4.5 or newer for Auto Config. Check the installed version and its documentation.

GPS Rescue is not assumed ready

GPS hardware alone does not establish a working rescue setup. Rescue depends on correct configuration, home position, usable GPS data and testing. It is not obstacle avoidance. Keep the feature marked unverified until the builder records its configuration and controlled test result; do not rely on it for the first flight.

FIRST FLIGHT AND AFTER-FLIGHT CARE

Before leaving the bench

Complete the handover record. Confirm the battery/prop combination, radio controls, arm/disarm, motor direction, video and intended failsafe. Check the airframe, TPU, antenna mounts, straps and wiring. All battery leads and balance wires must stay clear of the propellers.

At the field

Choose a suitable open area away from people, animals and obstacles. Check applicable local flight requirements and airspace for the location. If GPS functions are part of the approved setup, wait for the required fix and home-point confirmation. Check the actual pack voltage and secure the pack.

Make the first flight deliberately boring

Use the flight mode you have verified and practiced. Keep the first flight short, close and conservative. Check for unusual vibration, oscillation, motor sound, video breakup or control response. Land promptly if anything is wrong. No new tricks until the aircraft has earned your confidence.

After landing

Disarm before approaching. Disconnect the battery before handling the aircraft. Inspect props, hardware, antennas and wiring; check for abnormal motor or electronics temperature without touching spinning or hot parts. Review warnings and record any problem before the next flight.

Battery and coating care

Use the correct charger chemistry and cell count, follow the battery maker's charging/storage limits, and never charge unattended. Stop using damaged or swollen packs. Keep this aircraft dry: protective coating is not permission to fly in rain or submerge it. Inspect after impacts before returning to flight.

QUICK CHECKS AND REFERENCES

Will not arm

Read the actual arming warning in the OSD or configuration tool. Check throttle-low state, arm switch, pre-arm if configured, receiver link and sensor status. Do not disable safety checks simply to make the warning disappear.

Video works, but controls do not

Check the RP1/ELRS connection and receiver channel movement. DJI video and ELRS control are separate links.

GPS fix is missing

Test outdoors with a clear sky view. If the module still does not report usable data, confirm power, wiring and firmware settings with the builder. Do not assume an indoor no-fix result means the GPS is defective.

Final handover checks

Confirm the battery specification, condition, shipping terms, coating details, firmware/mode record and test results with the builder before first flight. Motor kV remains 2460 as explicitly confirmed by the seller; the manufacturer catalog also shows a 2006 variant at a different rating, so retain a clear label photo for the final handover.
