BlueBoy Getting Started Guide
A hand-built, high-performance 5-inch Betaflight aircraft. DJI O4 Pro supplies the digital view; it does not fly the quad for you.
Your package
BlueBoy custom 5-inch FPV with DJI O4 Pro, ELRS receiver and GPS.
RadioMaster Pocket Crush Frost Blue, bound and configured with basic modes.
DJI Goggles N3 paired to O4 Pro with OSD verified.
Healthy 6S XT60 LiPos, commonly 1000–1300mAh, and a proper balance charger.
Startup and shutdown
RADIO → GOGGLES → QUAD
- ARM switch off; throttle fully down.
- Power the Pocket and confirm the expected controls.
- Power Goggles N3 and let them boot.
- Secure the 6S pack, connect XT60, and leave BlueBoy still while it initializes.
- Confirm ELRS link/telemetry, O4 video, OSD, battery voltage and GPS status.
DISARM → UNPLUG QUAD → GOGGLES OFF → RADIO OFF
Props, Betaflight and controls
Do not copy a generic prop diagram. BlueBoy must use the motor direction and prop orientation configured for this aircraft. Photograph the layout before removing props. With props off, verify roll, pitch, yaw, throttle, ARM, modes, FC orientation and failsafe. Save a Betaflight backup before changing rates, presets or firmware.
GPS Rescue
First flight
- Frame, arms, props, prop nuts, antennas, camera, GPS, wiring and strap inspected
- Healthy 6S battery secured; leads clear of props
- Radio link, switches, video and OSD confirmed
- Short low hover, gentle inputs, then land and inspect
- Check motor temperature and stop if anything is unusually hot, rough or vibrating
