BlueBoy Getting Started Guide

A hand-built, high-performance 5-inch Betaflight aircraft. DJI O4 Pro supplies the digital view; it does not fly the quad for you.

Real FPV, serious power. Never arm around people, pets, vehicles, indoors, or on a workbench. Remove every prop before Betaflight motor, receiver, ESC, or failsafe work.

Props, Betaflight and controls

Do not copy a generic prop diagram. BlueBoy must use the motor direction and prop orientation configured for this aircraft. Photograph the layout before removing props. With props off, verify roll, pitch, yaw, throttle, ARM, modes, FC orientation and failsafe. Save a Betaflight backup before changing rates, presets or firmware.

GPS Rescue

GPS Rescue is not DJI Return-to-Home. Acquire satellites, verify home position, hover throttle, altitude and failsafe settings, and test only in a large open area.

First flight

BlueBoy rule: if the video, radio, sound, vibration or battery sag feels wrong, land. A controlled landing is cheaper than an exciting tree investigation.
